Gathering Table’s research and grants services are designed to meet any and all of your organization’s funding needs. We start where you are to build the solutions and navigate the key processes necessary to identify and enlist support for your mission.

Funding Searches

Our first priority is understanding who and where you are in your funding journey so that we can begin the work of finding support to help you move forward with your critical work. First we listen, then we get busy finding the audience who will share your vision and partner with you in bringing it to life.

Upon completion of our research, we provide you with a list of like-minded prospective funders who are a good fit with your goals; and a grants calendar, including key dates such as application deadlines and timelines for turnaround; as well as proposal requirements.

Letter of Inquiry (LOI)

Before accepting a full proposal, many foundations will request a letter of inquiry that serves as a mini-proposal, summarizing the key points needed to quickly assess a good match between the foundation’s interests and the proposed project.

We will write a compelling letter on your behalf to get the attention of your prospective funder and to persuade them that your organization’s mission is one that deserves their careful consideration.

Grant Proposals

Gathering Table will then write a competitive and comprehensive proposal that highlights your organization’s mission, strengths, resources, and goals, and that is customized to your prospective funder’s interests.

The proposal that we prepare for you is a thoughtfully customized call to action, designed to convey to your target audience that your organization has a worthy and actionable plan to advance an important cause and to convince them to join you as a partner for change.

Proposal Review and Training

If you already have a proposal prepared, we will thoroughly review what you’ve written and provide feedback for ways to strengthen your efforts to secure funding.

We also offer half-day and full day workshops where we will train your staff and help them develop the knowledge and expertise to serve your organization’s grant writing needs.

Academic Research Services

Our commitment to effective grants and research services began—and continues to be fueled by—a passion for scholarship and education and the processes that are critical for advancing an individual’s as well as an organization’s dreams and purpose.

To that end we also offer a range of services designed to move students forward in their academic journey, including:

• Thesis / Dissertation Mind Mapping to brainstorm ideas and project scope
• Document Editing/Proofeading of theses and dissertations
• Scholarship Search and Application Essay Support to identify scholarship providers and support the college essay/application process for high school juniors/seniors, and college students
• Individual and group tutoring for GED support
